21” x 15” Frame 28.5” x 22.5”

Born in New York, Clara Nulty grew up immersed in art. Her father, also a painter, instilled in Clara an appreciation for watercolor and landscape. Following artistic pursuits from childhood, Clara graduated magna cum laude with a BA in Studio Art from Carleton College in 2014. Now based in Louisville, CO, Clara has shown her work in Boulder, Denver, Pennsylvania, and New York.

Clara’s lifelong cornerstones of inspiration reside in themes of absence and landscapes. Inspired by the Hudson River School artists and the watercolors of Winslow Homer, Andrew Wyeth, William Matthews, Clara uses watercolor as a contemporary medium to portray a combination of environmental majesty and ephemeral, momentary appreciation.
